Compare Numbers Using Symbols (>, <, =)

Focus on accurately comparing numbers in first grade using mathematical symbols. This skill teaches students the meaning and correct application of the greater than (>), less than (<), and equal to (=) signs when comparing two-digit numbers. Learners will use place value understanding to determine which number is larger, smaller, or if they are equal, and then select the appropriate comparison symbol to make the mathematical statement true.
