Even and Odd Numbers

Establish a core understanding of number characteristics in second grade with the skill "Even and Odd Numbers." Learners will discover how to define and identify even numbers – those that can be grouped into pairs with none left over (often recognized by ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8). They will also learn to define and identify odd numbers – those that have one remaining when attempts are made to group them by twos (often recognized by ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9). This skill focuses on applying these foundational definitions and the ones place digit rule to determine if a given number is even or odd.
