Number Words: One to Ten
Recognize and match words to the correct amount!
Kindergarten - English Language Arts - Colors and Numbers
About This Skill
How many stars do you see? Kindergarteners practice counting groups of objects and matching them to the correct number words from one to ten. As questions adapt to their progress, children build confidence by recognizing these important sight words in interactive activities. With voice-guided aids and instant feedback, this practice helps early readers connect quantities to written words for a strong start in reading fluency.
Key Idea
Number words tell how many objects there are. Count the objects first. Then match the number to its word. Example: 3 stars = three 7 dots = seven The word and the amount must mean the same number. Read the word slowly, look at each letter, and check it with the count.
